2024 - 25 Shadow Work
Shadow Work explores the fragile balance between connection and isolation, presence and absence. Across the series, shadows become both form and metaphor, suggesting unseen relationships and the quiet ache of distance. Through layered applications of acrylic, oil, and wax, I use color, texture, and abstraction to evoke the emotional undercurrents that shape contemporary life: longing, transformation, and the effort to reach toward one another.
Figures emerge and fade within fields of deep reds, watery blues, and soft pinks. Each composition is a meditation on being “alone, together.” Whether a body lifting water, a hand extended, or a shadow stretched beyond the frame, these works reveal the spaces where connection flickers and solitude endures. Through Shadow Work, I invite viewers to reflect on the unseen bonds that sustain us and the movement between isolation and intimacy that defines our shared humanity.
