2021 Better Part of Fine
This body of work is heavily patterned and incorporates personal and cultural archetypes. Just as I work in layers of wax, I layer images to create metaphors, associations, and new meaning from juxtaposition. Based on "mind maps", a graphic organizer strategy for organizing ideas, the paintings explore the layers of personal identity, overlapping similarities, and the accumulation of experience in an individual.
